European Energy Programme for Recovery (EEPR)

In the context of the Economic Recovery Plan, the European Commission issued a call for proposals in 2009 (European Energy Programme for Recovery – EEPR) to companies that were developing sustainable energy solutions.

C-Power submitted its application and received an EEPR grant in 2010 amounting to EUR 10 million for its innovative foundation structures (jacket foundations) far from the coast (30 km) and in deep water (up to 27 m), to function as a base for the most powerful (6.15 MW) offshore wind turbines.

European Energy Programme for Recovery (EEPR)

In response to the global financial and economic crisis, the European Commission launched the EEPR financial support programme in January 2009 by calling for proposals for energy projects in the areas of interconnectivity, offshore wind and carbon capture and storage.

In July 2009, C-Power submitted two EEPR projects in the offshore wind category.

For the innovative substructures and optimised logistics for the Thornton Bank project, C-Power received financial support amounting to EUR 10,000,000.

Through the EEPR support, C-Power has been able to accelerate the development of the offshore wind project.
The pre-installation of four foundation piles per foundation location, using an innovative construction frame, speeded up the installation of the first jacket foundations in the spring of 2011.
