VESSEL MARINE COORDINATOR

CRUCIAL COORDINATING ROLE WITHIN THE HSE TEAM

In the revolutionary sector of offshore wind turbines, C-Power is seeking a dedicated team player to strengthen its HSE team. This dynamic position emphasizes resilience, proactiveness, coordination, and teamwork. Accuracy and attention to detail ensure that all necessary documents and certificates are in order, safety procedures are optimized, and improvement actions are initiated. C-Power is the only Belgian offshore wind farm where the original manufacturer of the turbines is no longer active. C-Power has taken on the responsibilities that typically belong to the manufacturer. This includes direct responsibility for tasks such as replacing major components, engineering solutions for technical problems, the entire procurement process, warehouse management, and logistics. These responsibilities are unique in the Belgian offshore wind sector and provide a continuous challenge.

Your Responsibilities

As a Vessel Marine Coordinator, you play a key role within the organization. You are responsible for the safe organization of all offshore transfers to and from C-Power's offshore wind park. These transfers are crucial for maintenance and technical work on the offshore wind park. You pay extra attention to the safety and well-being of offshore personnel in your role. In this position, you will report directly to the HSE Manager and be a member of the Internal Service for Prevention and Protection at Work (IDPBW).

Your responsibilities include:

  • Managing the operational and administrative coordination of all transfers conducted by both C-Power employees and third parties (individuals, boats, helicopters).
  • Monitoring day-to-day operations and external conditions from the control room.
  • Conducting checks on onshore and offshore personnel, particularly with regard to safety, such as verifying certificates (through site inductions and training) and work permits.
  • Serving as the point of contact for all parties involved in incidents and emergencies. You follow established procedures and take responsibility for coordinating emergency response activities.
  • Making daily decisions regarding park access for personnel and third parties based on weather forecasts, boat types, crew, competencies, permits, and more.
  • Serving as the contact person for all offshore employees, maintenance contractors, subcontractors, and specific government agencies regarding boat movements and onboard personnel.
  • Conducting regular on-site safety assessments and inspections during sea transfers to ensure compliance with safety procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement and enhancement of existing work methods and procedures through your initiatives and participation in various working groups, based on experience, risk analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Being a safety role model within the organization, both onshore and offshore. You motivate your colleagues to respect and follow safety rules.

Your Profile

  • Professional bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field, but this is not a requirement.
  • You have a strong affinity for safety, the environment, and health. If you can demonstrate several years of relevant experience in a safety-related role, it is a definite advantage. Ideally, you already hold a Level 2 prevention advisor certificate. If not, don't worry; C-Power will provide the necessary training.
  • Experience in a technically related role within an industrial context is certainly a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in the offshore energy sector are highly advantageous.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team, but you can also make independent decisions and remain calm and organized in emergency situations.
  • You will work both onshore and offshore, so you must be willing and able to go to the offshore wind park (turbines, substations) regularly. You will work offshore for an average of up to 2 days per month.
  • You have a positive attitude and can build constructive relationships with your colleagues and external parties. Good communication skills are essential for this.
  • You take responsibility and prioritize safety and health in the workplace.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with a focus on meticulous follow-up are important in this role.
  • You will participate in a flexible shift system in this role, so do not expect a 9-to-5 job and be prepared for both free moments and challenging workdays.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English.
